Bookkeeping
Do you need a simple method to keep track of your business or personal tax deductions? Or do you need something more comprehensive? For those with simple needs, I can help you get set up with a simple practical method designed just for you. For those with a more complex situation I would refer you to someone who will help tailor the right software for you or possibly even relieve you of the work altogether.
Business Consulting
Whether you already have a business or would like to start one, there are decisions to be made. Should your business be an LLC? What sort of ‘entity’ should it be: sole proprietor, partnership, or corporation(C or S)? What sort of bookkeeping software or method should you use? Do you need payroll services? What you decide on these matters can have enormous tax and cost implications. Please don’t rely on what ’someone said’ – consult a professional when making these decisions. I can help you with these decisions.
Individual & Family Budgeting
No one likes the word ‘budget’, let alone having to live within one. But if you need help managing your money in a way that will get your bills paid, save for long term or short term goals, I can help. Together we can develop a common sense plan to handling your money and your bills.

Do you have questions on participating in a 401k or IRA (traditional or Roth). Would purchasing investment/rental property be right for you? What affect would selling your investments have? I can help you with the tax consequences in these areas to help you make the right decisions.
Tax Planning
Is there something that you can do to reduce your tax liability? Do you need help with estimating next year’s taxes? Do you have questions on how your life’s changes (marriage, divorce, births, buying or selling a home, etc.) will impact your taxes? I can help you.

Representation
Audits/Appeals/Letters
If you ever receive a letter from the IRS or any State agency suggesting a change in your tax account or requesting an audit on your account, you have my full support in handling the entire process for you. Please don’t ever assume that any letter you might receive is correct and that an error was made on your return. The IRS and State agencies are not infallible and quite often there is little or no change when settling an issue.
Collections/Levies/Liens/Garnishments
Never ignore notices by the IRS or State agencies especially when they are requesting money – whether you agree with the letter or not. If the debt is legitimate, it is still better to make payment arrangements with them, or perhaps consider an Offer in Compromise, than to ignore the notices giving them no other recourse than to seize your bank accounts or property. Even if the IRS or State has gone forward with liens, levies or garnishments, we can work with them to get you a reasonable payment plan and get your property back.
If you feel the debt is questionable, excessive, or just plain in error, don’t delay. I can help you re-open the case and appeal the debt.
Offers in Compromise
There are situations when a person is just not able to fully pay a sizable tax debt or the debt is questionable. In these rare cases, the IRS or State agencies may be petitioned to accept an offer for less than the amount owed. This can be a lengthy and uncomfortable process and requires that the person stay in compliance with tax laws for the agreement to stay in effect. For IRS information on ‘Offers in Compromise’ please see http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc204.html or contact me if you think this might apply to your situation.
